When I materialise a series of diptychs, (1992) I felt that I needed, to close a thought ,to have the idea of what I wanted to express.  Then I remembered that many years ago I had known the Complete Works of "Rosalia de Castro or The Pain of Life. " This Galician poet was born on February 24 1837 and died in 1885 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.  Some of her verses like "the edge of the Sar", will accompany - as titles, some of my works. This choice , does not mean an attempt to illustrate them. In the distance I feel that through his poetry, Rosalia follows as a lookout each of the acts of man and nature. Mistakes, successes, loves and hates, joys and resentments. An evolution of events and the wealth of images that attract my attention.  There is a deep relationship between poetry and visual arts.

- My work is my own story.

- I let the memory happens,

In the first pages of the Complete Works of Rosalia de Castro and "The Pain of Living," with a foreword by V. García Martí. Editorial Aguilar, 2nd ed., 1947, read:

The poets of the images tend to become prisoners in the beauty of the outside world, the world of appearances, the poet of feeling, nothing but the feeling, lies on the inner life and drive his poetry itself, in the most juicy , alive and deeply himself. We believe that this is  a doubly poet, from the depths, a poet in a state of nature, a poet alone.Rosalia was a bit like that.
A poet is not only the one who dominate the  rhyme. A poet  is often described as a being who lives a bit out of the world, in ideal regions. And there are, in effect, a lyricism that lies in the expression and the desire to superimpose an ideal world to the real world.

... His theme is the very soul, the root intimate and tragic because of  ( according to the author's preface) Galician nature. It is not the meek and gentle lyricism of pleased love or resigned pain . If these issues are sweetened by force of the religious sense, in the end, the note is tragic, short of despair.

At the same time to realize a series of ...

- My interest and pursuit of the work referred to abstraction.

- Observing nature and searching there the convergence of lines, planes, shades, transparencies
Lidia Paladino: "- A magical world of elements that connect us to the depths of our being. The obligation to enter this world and look for the roots of such beauty.
